Thickener in iron processing plant

A thickener is a piece of equipment used in mineral processing plants for the purpose of thickening or dewatering slurries of ore particles in a liquid medium. 

In an iron processing plant, the thickener is used to concentrate and settle the iron ore slurry before it is further processed. The thickener works by using gravity to pull the solids to the bottom of the tank and allowing the liquid to overflow at the top. The settled solids are then pumped out of the bottom of the thickener and sent for further processing, while the overflow goes on to other stages of the iron processing plant. The size and capacity of the thickener depend on the amount of ore that needs to be processed and the specific requirements of the plant.
