Titanium ore, mainly including ilmenite and rutile, is a strategic mineral material widely used in aerospace, metallurgy, chemical industry and new energy industries. Natural titanium ore is often symbiotic with quartz, feldspar, mica and iron impurities, featuring complex mineral composition and low raw ore grade. Professional beneficiation equipment and scientific process selection are essential to efficiently separate titanium minerals from gangue and improve concentrate purity and resource utilization rate.

The whole titanium ore beneficiation system consists of crushing and grinding equipment, pre-separation equipment, core sorting equipment and fine purification equipment. Each unit is selected according to ore properties, particle size distribution and impurity types, forming a matched and high-efficiency production line.

Crushing and grinding equipment serves as the foundation of titanium processing. Jaw crushers and cone crushers are adopted for staged crushing to obtain uniform granular materials. Ball mills and rod mills are used for fine grinding and dissociation, fully separating monomer titanium minerals from associated gangue, which creates favorable conditions for subsequent sorting operations.

Gravity separation equipment is the primary roughing unit for titanium ore beneficiation. Spiral chutes and 6-S shaking tables are mainstream devices, utilizing the density difference between titanium minerals and gangue. They feature large processing capacity, low energy consumption and zero pollution, suitable for processing coarse and medium-grained titanium ore. This step can remove most light waste rock and greatly reduce the load of subsequent refining equipment.

Magnetic separation equipment is the core facility for titanium impurity removal and concentration. Permanent drum magnetic separators eliminate ferromagnetic iron impurities, while vertical ring high-gradient magnetic separators remove weakly magnetic gangue and altered minerals. This equipment combination effectively improves the grade of titanium concentrate and is widely applied in both rock titanium ore and coastal placer titanium ore processing.

For fine-grained and refractory titanium ore, flotation machines and electrostatic separators are equipped for deep purification. Flotation removes sulfide and silicate impurities through selective agent adsorption, while electrostatic separators separate rutile and ilmenite based on conductivity differences, further upgrading high-purity titanium concentrate.

Scientific process selection is critical to beneficiation efficiency. Coarse-grained placer titanium ore adopts a simplified gravity-magnetic separation combined process. Complex rock titanium ore applies the combined flow of gravity separation, magnetic separation, flotation and electric separation. Reasonable equipment matching and process optimization effectively increase titanium recovery rate, reduce production costs, and meet the high-standard material requirements of the global titanium industry.
