“The Division of Social and Economic Sciences seeks to enhance the understanding of individual, social, and organizational behavior by creating and sustaining social science infrastructure, and by supporting disciplinary and interdisciplinary research that advances knowledge in the social and economic sciences.

SES promotes research, infrastructure, and training in three disciplinary programs – Economics, Political Science, and Sociology and seven interdisciplinary ones: Cultivating Cultures for Ethical STEM; Decision, Risk and Management Sciences; Law and Social Science; Measurement, Methods, and Statistics; Science of Organizations; Science, Technology, and Society; and Secure and Trustworthy Cyberspace.”

The National Science Foundation’s Social and Economic Sciences division uses socio-economical evaluation to aid in improvements in food, energy, and water systems.
